Sport-Social Facilitated Meet-Up

As part of the SpectrumConnects program, the initial meet-up will be held and facilitated at Sport-Social. A SpectrumConnects representative will introduce parents, kids, and their assigned Sport-Social instructor. After the introductions, the Sport-Social instructor will engage the kids in fun social activities like playing basketball, riding a skateboard, or jumping in the bounce house.

While the kids are playing, parents will meet with one of our SpectrumConnects representatives. Parents will get to learn more about each other, share experiences, and have fun while watching their children play and interact. Our SpectrumConnects representative will help guide the conversation to make sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying their time at Sport-Social. Meanwhile, the kids will be getting an opportunity to see if they have met their next new friend! The Sport-Social facility is equipped with a basketball court, skate park, arcade, art room, music room, bounce house and more! Based upon the information provided when joining SpectrumConnects, the kids will engage in activities with shared interest.

After the first meet-up, SpectrumConnects will follow up with both families to schedule a second meet-up at Sport-Social where everyone will be given another opportunity to get to know each other even better. After the second meet-up, SpectrumConnects will then follow up to see if both parties would like to exchange information. If both parties agree to schedule future meet-ups, a SpectrumConnects representative can assist in coordinating mutually agreed upon locations, dates, and times. However, if after the second meet-up there didn’t seem to be a good fit for either party, then no future meet-ups will be scheduled. Instead, both parties will be added back into our system and we will follow up to schedule the next Sport-Social facilitated meet-up with another family. There is no limitation on the number of Sport-Social facilitated meet-ups that each family can attend – you can repeat this process to make more and more new friends.

Meet-up duration is 30 minutes. Please arrive 10 minutes early to make sure you and your child are prepared to start at the designated time.

  • Child SkatingMeet-ups are available on Saturdays at 9:00 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.; and on Sundays at 4:00 p.m. A SpectrumConnects representative will work to find a meet-up time that works for both families.
  • Husbands, wives, and other significant others are welcome to attend. However, to get the most out of the meet-up session, we recommend not bringing siblings and other children. Please inform SpectrumConnects in advance if you need to bring siblings to your scheduled meet-up.
  • The cost for every Sport-Social facilitated meet-up is $12.50. This payment must be made in order to schedule your meet-up. Payments can be made over the phone at (702) 907-2864 or submitted in person prior to the meet-up. Please let us know if you need financial assistance. Help is available.
  • We understand busy schedules, sick kids, and emergencies are a part of life and cannot always be avoided. However, it is important to understand the negative effects of being “stood up” when going to meet a prospective new friend. In order to set-up these kids for success, we ask that you provide a minimum of a 24-hour notice when rescheduling.
